Bobby Holik and the NHLPA
# Tuesday, December 14, 2004
The NHL is set to reject the latest NHLPA proposal and introduce their own. I frankly don't blame them, the 'concessions' the NHLPA offered are nothing more than PR gimmicks. 24% rollback of salaries is pathetic, turn back the clock 2-3 years. That's perfect, you will save the league hundreds of millions, which they will promptly have to spend in 2-3 years when all the current contracts have expired. This is NOT a concession to help the owners with cost certainty. The NHLPA say the owners are lying about profits, well if the owners are making money like the NHLPA says then what’s the problem with a revenue based salary structure?? But it all comes back to a bunch of spoiled children that want to keep all their toys, all the rest of us be damned.
Bobby Holik had this to say today to the NY Post:

''Lying comes very easy to these people,'' Holik told the New York Post in a story published Tuesday.
''The owners and league lie all the time to further their agenda.
''What that is, it appears pretty obvious to me at this point, is to break the union and start all over
again with entirely new players."

Where do I even start?
"These people"? Who are these people? Rich people with more money than brains...
"entirely new players"? Nope, it’s all just scam to get Holik out of the league.
All I hear is crying, at least pretend to be an adult and back up your remarks with SOME kind of proof. I also think its great that these comments come from the most overpaid player in the NHL. Of course he is scared of a salary cap, no one would pay him half the salary he gets now if there was a cap.
