New Mapping Extension for Firefox
# Tuesday, March 08, 2005
While checking MozDev.org today I noticed a new mapping extension for Firefox, MapFox.  Basically allowing you to view a Google Map (or MapQuest) of a selected address with 2 clicks, and no copying and pasting.
Up until today I had been using MapIt! every once in a while, but it didn't support Google Maps and it didn't support Canadian addresses so I wasn't a big fan at all.
MapFox supports Google Maps and Canadian Address, only trick is to enter your postal code where it asks you for a zip code (I think most Canadians are used to this anyways).
So download it and give it a try, if you haven't used many extensions before you might need some help installing due to the fact that Mozilla has tightened security on extensions in the last couple version of Firefox.

Installation:
1. Go to the MapFox page
2. Click on the installation link.  You will probably get a little bar at the top of the page saying Firefox has blocked the site.  Click on the Edit Options button on the right side of this bar.
3. Click the Allow Button
4. Click on the Installation Link again.
5. Click on the Install button

Options:
Almost all extensions have their options in the actual extension, so you will need to click on Tools (across the top of your Firefox browser), then Extensions, highlight the extension you want, then click the Options button.  For MapFox this is where you can enter your address.
