The Wedding Round Up
# Monday, September 11, 2006

Well the summer is over, and it was a fairly light for me and Steph as far as weddings go.  It helps that Steph took off for a month to Italy.  We had a nice wedding out in Mississaugua right after she got back, food there was amazing, best quantity and quality food I've ever had at a wedding.

Then there was the big wedding of the summer, the Runham wedding.  The day actually started out pretty horribly, a bunch of us were supposed to be golfing at Rock Chapel and I left my house in plenty of time.  However if the whole day went smoothly I would have felt cheated.  I got on the 403 and it took me 45 minutes to get from Waterdown road to Highway 6, a stretch that should have taken 5.

Thankfully everything went smoothly after that, a nice ceremony and an amazing reception.  I don't think they will use me as an example in the 'How to be the best Best Man' book, but I did come through with a bottle of Tequila when the bar didn't have any.  There are a tonne of great pictures from the wedding, and as a side note, I think that I've got just about everyone using PicasaWeb now.

Windows Live Writer

I've created the last couple posts while on the train using Windows Live Writer, a pretty cool tool that lets you write and post all in one.  I know there are a whack of tools out there that let you blog offline and then publish but this is the first one I've used.  Only thing I wished it had is a queue, so I can write a whack of posts in one sitting and just have them upload over the span of a week.  I'll have to give a couple of the other packages a spin now that I'm trying to get blogging again.

GMail and PicasaWeb

Pretty much everyone I know has heard my preach my Gmail sermon.  I just love it that much.  My only problem now is that I'm having to use Outlook more at work right now and none of the keyboard shortcuts work in Outlook.  My fingers keep using them, but nothing happens... Simple things like typing 'r' while reading an email should open a reply, it just makes sense, to more complex like 'G' then 'I' to go back to the inbox.  I love the shortcuts.  PicasaWeb is one of the newer offerings from Google.  If you haven't used Picasa before it is a decent way to view, edit and organize your photo collection.  Now they have added a WebAlbum feature which allows you to upload 250 meg of pictures to Google's servers in either a public or private gallery.  Absolutely love it, check out my public gallery.

The New Car
# Monday, August 28, 2006

Well I finally got my new Dodge Caliber.  I ordered it on April 16th and it finally arrived around July 26th.  I was really getting sick of my old car so it was really easy to love this car in the first couple weeks I had it.  But I'm coming up on a month of owning it now and I still absolutely love it.  I've only had one problem so far, and that is a broken button on the universal garage door opener that I can't even get to work anyway's.    You can see a couple more pics over at my PicasaWeb page.  I'll try and post a couple more pics once I get cleaned off again.

Been Too Long
# Tuesday, August 22, 2006

It has been FAR too long since I last posted something here.  Going to try and get back into it now though.

March 30th was a long long time ago...  a lot has happened in my little corner of Ontario since then.  Steph went to Italy for three weeks with her parents and had a wonderful time.

While she was gone, my house fell apart.  The AC broke right before the big heatwave of the summer, and just before that my roof started leaking...  on the plus side, my car that I ordered back in April finally arrived.  I'll post some pictures in my new post.  And then finally Steph came home and my AC got fixed, the roof was patched, and new windows installed in the front of my family room.

I gave her a week to recover from her jetlag and then I proposed on August 11th and she said yes :)  We are planning on getting married next summer, most likely on some warm southern beach.  Hope everyone will be there.
